How did I get so lucky?

Its so wonderful to finally find that one person that completes you. I don't know how I got so lucky, but I found mine, and I don't for one second take him for granted.
Matthew and I met while working at Home Depot together for about 2 years. I thought he was an ass hole when I first met him because he had that Im too good to help you attitude. I on the other hand, was a stuck up bitch in his eyes. First impressions can be very misleading, that's for sure. Matthew is the exact opposite of an ass hole. LOL. He is actually the sweetest thing ever. When he is around new people he clams up and hides his true self. He isn't very trusting at first, and that's okay, its only one of the many things I love about him.
I had a crush on him for the longest time, but tried to convince myself that it was purely an infatuation and would eventually go away. "I'm not his type anyways and I'm in a relationship as is he." Well, it ended up not being an infatuation, but was a beginning to the most wonderful thing in my life.
He was moving to Alaska. His last day at work, June 24th, 2007, I said we should hang out sometime. He said that he was going to his parents in Isabella the next morning and then as soon as he sold his car he would be on his way to Alaska, "so it would have to be tonight.' So, that's what we did...we went to Mickey's and had a few drinks then went to Denny's to have a morning snack at 1am...lol...I think we ended up having cheese sticks with ranch dressing and some fries. We dropped his car off and I took him up behind the college where we talked and watched the stars until 5:30am. We watched the sun come up and then went home. I had to work at 9am so I got a couple hours of sleep, and all I could think about is how much I enjoyed spending time with him and talking. We have so much in common...why does he have to move so far away. After a while of discussing with him how much I wanted to be with him, I decided that I wanted to move with him to Alaska. I know, I know, crazy, but that's what you do when your so in love with someone. Those big decisions become easy ones. He moved there about 2 months later and lived there for a month, while I sold all my stuff including my car and was about to head up. He realized that there was no way for us to get on our own two feet up there with the way the economy was, so he moved back. We bought me a new car, and lived in the cars for about 1 month before we got our first apartment together. Been through great times and rough times together. Even through the rough times, everything always seems to work out because we have each other to keep us going.
August 8, 2008...I just got a new job as a security guard for CLPD and we went to Bakersfield to get my uniforms. We made a day trip out of it and went to the mall. Matthew injured his back at work, so he was kind of whinny. lol. I said lets go home so you can relax and get better. He said, "lets get drinks first." So, we were in front of Jamba Juice when he says, "Lets get you a ring babe" I can usually tell when he is joking and when he isn't, and there was something in me that knew, this was no joke. I said "are you being serious?" He replied, "yeah, why not?" So, for about 2 hours we went from jewelry store to jewelry store to find a ring. All the salesman would ask, "are you looking for an engagement ring?" I would say, I don't know, I think so... He saw one that was amazing. I tried it on and knew this was the one. This was the one that best describes us. Unique, bright, and happy, and just our style. None other compared to this one, so that what we got. He wouldn't let me where it though. It wasn't official. LOL.
On our way home we were talking wedding plans...it was so cute and romantic, it still gives me chill bumps. The conversation was so intense that we missed our turn off and ended up in Edwards Air force Base. Hahaha...what dorks. So, we didn't end up getting home till bout 10pm. We went up stairs to go to bed and as I was about to crawl in Matthew grabs me and sets me down on the bed and gets down on one knee. It was perfect. No one around, just me and him in our first apartment together.
50 days from today, we will be husband and wife. How did I get so lucky to find this man who makes me feel like no one else can.
~♥I will love him for the rest of our lives and beyond.♥~

We Are Engaged!

As if everyone didn't already know. lol. As of 08/08/2008, I am getting married to M.A.G and couldn't possibly be more happy and excited. It hasn't been stressful at all, in fact we pretty much have everything done and 2 months to go. We have been planning everything together as a team which considering we are going to be spending our lives together and making even larger decisions than these, that's a good thing. We found amazing deals on everything, except the HUGE martini glasses. Oops! But when we found out the great deal were getting on the ceremony/reception hall, we felt it was okay to splurge a little bit on them. .
So, anyways, we have been together for 1 1/2 years. I met him while working at The Home Depot and we worked together for about 2 years. We began dating on June 24th, 2007, and it was like a dream. I didn't think I would ever be with someone so amazing and perfect for me. He is truly my prince charming, and I'm not one to believe in fairy tales.
We have so much in common, yet still have the differences that keep it interesting. We aren't so much alike that we fight all the time, but we do so much and have such a great time spending time together. I'm sure that just by looking all the thousands of pictures, you probably got that. lol. About a month after we started dating, he moved to Alaska. I was all set and ready to move with him, so I sold damn near everything including my car and ended up not moving because of the economy up there. There was no possible way for us to get on our own two feet in an acceptable time, so needless to say, Matthew moved back to Cali, we bought me a new car, and lived in our cars for about a month. There have been some incredibly rough times financially that made things very stressful, but we survived them all. Now we have a wonderful home, and great jobs, and soon to be an amazing marriage.
All jokes aside, I am truly looking forward to becoming Mrs. Griswold...ha ha, like the family vacation THE GRISWOLDS! Okay, now seriously no jokes. His family is incredible, and they adore me which is that much better.
Our wedding will take place on January 24th, 2009 @ 1pm. It will be held at the Paradise Cafe, Ca. Cant wait to see everyone and enjoy our BIG day with all our family and friends. Some may feel that its a privilege to be there, I feel that its a privilege to have you there. So, with that said, thank you everyone for you support. Its very much appreciated.
