I LOVE IT!

Im not going to lie...the CocaCola commercial with the bugs...
totally gets to me everytime!
Its funny and so cute!

He is soooo amazing...

My husband and I were talking last night, I was telling him how sad it is that there are so many couples who try to conceive, but struggle. I am so grateful that we have a healthy little girl on the way and I wish that it wasn't so hard for the other couples who are just as deserving as we are to have a baby of their own. It angers me how people who are irresponsible and not fit to be parents can pop out a dozen children, whom they cant care for properly or allow them to end up in foster care often with troubled lives in the hands of strangers. I'm not saying all foster children have it that rough, but you do hear a lot of horror stories about the system and its flaws. Yet, good/fit potential parents can try for years and have no success. Why? Imagine if unfit people couldn't conceive and the fit ones could...the abandoned babies would decrease immensely.
...
Anyway, getting to the point, after we finished our discussion/venting session about this topic, I asked how his night was (he went bowling with a few buddies). He said that he had about 4 beers and felt full, he decided that he doesn't want to drink anymore. With our little angel on the way, he has decided that its stupid to drink...we have just as much, if not more fun without alcohol in our lives. The occasional wine is nice, but heavy drinking more than special occasions just isn't appealing and "our daughter doesn't need to be around that shit." I smiled so big because, (I grew up around alcohol...not pleasant memories of my past...in fact memories I have for the most part blocked out and care to keep it that way) my husband doesn't drink very much or often as it is and still feels the need to cut out beer completely, I think thats sweet. He is so selfless and cares so much about our little family...its one of the many qualities I adore of him.
...
Later on in the evening, the guys called him from the bowling alley asking him to come back...they got pretty wasted, lol, my hubby told them, "I'm too old for that." We are in our mid twenties...these guys are in their thirties *laughing* so it funny to think that Matthew doesn't want to party and they did. He was telling me how awesome I am because I'm understanding and supporting while he is down there...most of the other guys are having issues with their wives because they are whining and moaning over the time that their men are down there. The training is only 2 months...it used to be 4 months, so honestly, I don't know what these women are complaining about...it could be much worse. Besides, my husband is doing this for our family, its a career move and will benefit us for years down the road...I can sacrifice 2 months for that. He is soooo amazing!

Wish Me Luck!

I have an interview today. I worry, a bit, that I wont get it because if they are looking to fulfill the position immediately, I can start now, but once I have Kylie, I will be out for about 3 months and I'm hoping that wont be a problem. I know, employers aren't supposed to discriminate against pregnant women, but they can sneak around that by simply saying that I wasn't qualified for the position, or someone else was more qualified. However, I'm excited that I have the opportunity to get a better job...I have to get out of where I am, there is just no way that it will work out with our daughter on the way and my husband starting there...we would both be working 13 hour shifts and the shifts don't work around the daycare hours. This job (if I get it) will be perfect because its Monday-Friday, 9 hour days, and its in the field I have been trying to get into forever. So, everyone keep your fingers crossed that they give me the opportunity to show them what a great and hardworking employee I am.

Am I a Blogaholic?

Would you say that someone is a wee bit addicted to blogging if they are SCHEDULING blog posts? *Giggle*, I'm just asking because I was looking at my posts and double checking that I haven't forgotten any important dates...then it hit me...am I the only one that pre-posts things like birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions, and random things like "Welcoming April" and such? I had about 9 posts scheduled, however some have already posted, but I still have about 6 ready to go...and they go as far out as June (Fathers Day)...hmmm...perhaps I have a little too much time on my hands *wink*

Oh, PS....

My Weekend Full of Surprises...

As I already posted, my husband made a last minute decision to surprise me with a visit this weekend. It was amazing to have him home, and because he got let out of work early, he got into town around 5 (earlier than expected). Last time I got to see him was 2 weeks ago when I went down to SD to see him...and believe it or not...2 weeks (no matter how fast it seemed to have gone by now) can feel like a lifetime. When I look back I feel that it went pretty fast, but when I saw Matthew and hugged & kissed him...I felt like it had been forever since the last time I got to do that.
We went to dinner after he got into town, but other than that, we pretty much just crawled into bed and cuddled watching TV...he was pretty tuckered out from work and the drive.
Saturday, I already had plans made with my mom to go shopping for baby shower stuff. That was so much fun hanging out with Cathy and my mom for a few hours, but my mommy understood that Matthew was home and she got me back to him as quickly as she could, lol, and go figure...hubby wasn't there and wifey didn't bring anything (purse or keys) except the cell phone...so I called him to find out where he was at, and let him know I was locked out lol. He was on the other side of town getting gas and was heading home right then...later on to find out, he got gas all the way across town because he was looking for flowers to surprise me with, but didn't like any of them and when I called him he was just about to head into the store down the street from us to look at their flower selection. How sweet is he? He is so spontaneous and adorable. For no reason at all, he just wanted to get me flowers. Anyway, we went to Pony Espresso and he said, "Anything you and Kylie girl want." I laughed and said, "ANYTHING?" I was going to get a sweet tea and he asked if that was really all I wanted. I asked him, "What do you mean?" He said, "Well, I figured you would get a snickers thingy or something." I don't usually get those unless I have a free drink (which they don't do anymore anyway) because they are too expensive. I ended up getting a Spice Chai (Yum!) and we headed to Wal-Mart to look for a few things he needed for work. We got home and relaxed for a few when he asked if I was ready for dinner, I wasn't quite ready and he informed me that he didn't want to go too late...so we decided to go around 5:30. We played some Wii bowling, tennis, and golf to pass the time. It was so much fun, he kicked my butt at bowling and tennis and told Kylie that he beat mommy, I said, "yeah, with a tennis racket and a bowling ball (lol) but I beat daddy with a golf club." We headed out for dinner and I asked where we were going...he said somewhere I heard was supposed to be really good. We were heading toward Inyokern, so I'm thinking "Bernadinos is that great..." I asked him if we were going to the Lodge, he said no, that place is too expensive... Well, my husband is really good at surprising people, and sometimes I cant tell if he is hiding something or being serious...he was acting like he didn't know where this place was and he was looking for it, and because the universe is usually in his favor, it just happened that this steak house in Inyokern was closed, so he played off it and said, "What the heck, are they closed for good?" I told him I didn't think so, but its weird that they aren't open on a Saturday around 6. We kept driving....toward the Lodge...that was where he was originally wanting to take me, but he wanted it to be a surprise...even with my nosey butt always trying to figure things out, lol, he was still able to pull it off. We sat by the fireplace...it was dim and romantic. He told me not to worry about $prices$ just order whatever I want...I got the Fillet Mignon...it was perfect! Delicious! I love the salad up there...Matt thinks it tastes dirty, but its amazing and they are famous for it...well that and their home brewed IWV beers and sodas. Then we got a pudding parfait to share...it was so good! After dinner, we rented a movie and headed home. Just having him home was perfect, but everything made it that much more romantic.
Today, he had to head back, but we went to K-Mart first...still needed to find a few things for work (Wal-Mart sucks and doesn't have anything). While we were there, we browsed around the baby clothes and the jewelry. We have been trying to find a necklace for Kylie for when she turns 18 we can give her something we bought when she was born. We found 10K white gold necklaces for 12 bucks...no joke, so Matthew bought me one and we bought Kylie one...they are way cute. He left to go back around 1pm and I headed over to my moms for a visit...then came home and worked on the baby shower door prizes, favors, and necklaces for the "don't say baby" game. My husband made it back safely, and in 5 days I get to see him again for the weekend! I'm so excited...this was a great weekend...only 3 more weeks and he will be graduated and home for good!

Me and The Love of My Life

March 19th, 1985 Matthew's Birthday
February 7th, 1986 Lisa's Birthday
June 24th, 2007 First Date and Kiss
August 8th, 2008 Engaged
January 24th, 2009 Married
August 30th, 2009 Found out We're Pregnant
May 6th, 2010 Baby Kylie is Due

My hubby said that he is considering coming home this weekend. He is coming home next weekend already, but if he comes this weekend too...Oh My Goodness! Lol, I would love to hold him. Its been two weeks since I was down there, and even though its gone by somewhat quickly, I miss him so much, and can't wait to see him, kiss him, hug him, hold him. I sent him a picture of my belly tonight and told him that Kylie wanted to say hi to her daddy and that she loves him...he loved the picture, but I could hear his voice get sad. He said, "I miss you so much babe" and explained to me that he was thinking about coming home this weekend. I want him to come, but at the same time, every time he makes that drive, I get a bit nervous...he is a safe driver, and I'm sure everything will be fine, but I know how those idiots drive on the freeway and so I cant help but fear something bad could happen...I don't like thinking that way...I don't want to think that way...I shouldn't think that way. I'm not going to think that way, and so if he comes home, Kylie and I will be waiting patiently and smile ear to ear without a care in the world. I adore my husband, and I'm so proud of him. He has passed all of his tests with scores no lower than 98%. Whoo Hoo! Only 3 weeks to go and I get my hubby back in my arms...and I am not letting him go...not even to go pee. LOL. Just Kidding.

I Miss You Already!

To the love of my life: Through our journey, we run into moments that seem difficult, but we survive them every time. Although this is not going to be easy on us, being away from each other for so long, its worth it in the long run. I love you, I will always love and support you, and when you have accomplished what you have worked so hard to get to already, Kylie and I will waddle up to that stage to pin that badge on you with pride. Stay busy sweetheart, we love you!

100th Post!

My daddy and Corey came down to visit for the weekend. It was so much fun. We played Wii bowling and real bowling, went to Kernville to explored and had Pizza Barn and Big Blue Bear coffee's. Daddy got to feel his granddaughter kicking...he loved it...even got a little emotional, hehe. She has been so active lately, we are 23 weeks along, and she is getting so big...which means so am I haha, even had to get maternity clothes. Matthew and I bought my dad (grandpa) an early birthday gift, a GPS, told him now he can find his way here, so he shouldn't wait so long till the next visit. Lol. He got us a baby monitor, its a nice one and will come in very handy. I had such a great weekend, I didn't want it to end, but life doesn't pause just cause your having a good time, so they had to head home today. I am definitely looking forward to the next visit, most likely going to be in May when baby girl arrives *wink*...so it will be a great visit then too.

25 days to go...

I'm not sure which emotion I am most feeling right now...on one hand I am super excited, but on the other its going to be hard. In 25 days, my husband will be leaving for the academy. He will be leaving on our one year wedding anniversary, and wont be back for 8 weeks. This is the opportunity he has been waiting for, for over a year. It is best for our family because this is a major career move, its just crazy timing. I cant help but feel sad because selfishly I want him to be here with me, but at the same time I'm so excited for him because he is finally establishing the stability in a job he has been searching for. Although this is going to be a long emotional two months, I support him 100%.
...
When we first discussed the time that he will be down south, I was thinking that I would be able to change shifts and have my weekends off...this way, I wont be alone during the week because I would be working, and weekends I can either go down there to see him, he could come here to see me, or I can hang out with family and friends. But, I recently found out that shift change may not take affect till April, possible June. So, I'm stuck on weekend shift for the entire academy. That means, if Matthew comes up here on the weekend, I will be at work and cant spend any time with him, I cant go down there during the week because he will be working...I'm going to be alone during the week because everyone works Monday thru Friday. My birthday is during the academy, so this isn't going to be the birthday of a lifetime because I wont be spending it with the love of my life. This is going to be harder than I originally anticipated. When Matt was in Maine for training for his previous job, it was very emotional. We had just gotten married, so I wanted to spend every waking moment with him naturally...now I'm pregnant. Lol. Not going to be much easier...in fact, might be a little more emotional...and its not just for a week...its 2 months! Oh Dear! Gotta be strong...for me, Kylie, and my husband. This isn't going to be any easier for him. He doesn't want to miss out on Kylie's development or our appointments. Fortunately, he will graduate the academy on his birthday and be here for the birth of our daughter. We were most worried about the timing of the academy and that he may not be out in time for her arrival, so we are lucky that he wont miss out on that wonderful event. Everything thing happens for a reason, and things always work out for us, so I am confident that although this is going to be a difficult time, we have been through worse in our relationship and we can survive anything. I love Matthew so much.

Ahhh...

My life is too busy, I haven't been able to keep this thing updated like I used to. LOL. Well, there has been so much going on that I don't know what to even write, so here is the really short version...We are still working on buying a house. We are taking a little more time than originally planned due to recent credit things that came up...nothing too big, just a few points that we need to add to Matt's score. Then its back to hunting. I got really burnt out on the overtime so I am going to take a break from that, and if need be, I will work a few more extra days here and there, but not 71 hour weeks like I have been for the past month. Um, let see, we are also still trying to conceive, but I have officially reached the point where I understand that it isn't time just yet, it will happen when it happens. It is still a little hard when the evil week of the month shows up uninvited, haha, but I haven't been taking it as hard. Nature and I have reached a mutual understanding so to speak. LOL. I got pampered yesterday, Angela and I got our pedicures finally which was so much fun, so shout out to her "THANK YOU BESTIE" and that is pretty much that. Like I said, too much stuff, not enough time to recap it all...I will try to keep this thing a bit more updated, but until our crazy, full and fun life slows back down just a tad, short and sweet it is. LOL. I miss all my friends from out of town, glad that you guys keep in touch with me through text messages and your all doing well in your lives out of the crest. Aimee, I cant wait for you to come in September. Hope I get to steal you for more than 15 mins. hehe, but you know I understand that your going to be catching up with all your friends and family, so if I don't get to hang out with you, I love you and Kane is growing so fast, so don't blink and miss it. Enjoy ever waking moment. Your actually very fortunate to be a stay at home mom and soak in all the special events. :) Poker night tonight, been a while so I'm looking forward to it, see you there Liz, James, Jim, and Marya. Signing out...L. Griswold PEACE!

OVER TIME OVER LOAD!

I'm working overtime galore. We put the offer in and got denied yesterday. We aren't upset over it though...it gives us more time to save up...then we can save even more for a down and get a better house or a better interest rate for paying more than the bare minimum. So, anyways, now I'm working as much overtime as I can handle. I think I'm going to sick with 6 days every week for the next month or two. Matthew might be going to San Diego and if that happens then I will work 3 weeks straight unless I can go down there for my flex weekend, then I will take those four days off to see him. Anyways, I have to finish getting ready for work, but that's whats going on. I will post more info later.

Our Weekend In Ridgecrest

Its rare, I know, but we actually stayed in Ridgecrest all weekend this week. So, I already wrote about our Friday over at Marya and Jim's house. Saturday we kicked back and played games on the computer and watched HGTV until around 3:30 or so when our new friends, Jim and Marya, came over for some delicious pot roast that Matthew started at 8am that morning. We played some games and just hung out talking until Matthew said, "Jim, lets give you a tattoo." Lol, Jim was all sorts of stoked about it, so they went through some pictures and found the perfect tat for Jim's personality. He chose a Jester (joker). Matt and I had plans to drive out to the middle of nowhere so we could watch the meteor shower, so Matthew started his tattoo today (Sunday). He has the outline and part of the coloring done and it looks bad ass. I got acquainted with Jim's daughters Jordan and Maxine. They are great girls. Marya was interested in my blogspot so we put one together for her. I got it started for her, and she worked on it today and made it look great. She is a quick learner with some help from her 17yr old step daughter. :) I'm so happy to find such great friends in this crummy town.
After leaving their house we came home so I could start dinner for my family. I wasn't able to do anything for Father's Day, so I told Willy and my mom that they needed to come over so I could make him a belated Father's Day dinner. I made my newly famous spaghetti, we had salad with it, and garlic bread. It was a great visit. Anyways, without going into too much detail, that was our much needed relaxing weekend in Ridgecrest. Nice to stay in town for a change. Back to the grind tomorrow.
